You can import a PowerPoint presentation to AhaSlides in PPT, PPTX or PDF format. Doing this means you can put interactive slides from AhaSlides in between the slides of your PowerPoint.
How to import your files
By importing your PowerPoint to AhaSlides, you can insert any of AhaSlides interactive slides into your PowerPoint presentation. This means that you can present your information as you normally would, then have interactive questions at points throughout your presentation.
You can import any PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of 50MB and 100 slides. Please note that larger PowerPoint files may take a while to fully import
There are two ways you can import your PowerPoint file to AhaSlides:
1. Import on the AhaSlides Dashboard
On the My Presentations dashboard, you can click the button labelled 'Import'. Once you've done this, a pop-up window will ask you to browse your computer for your PPT, PPTX or PDF PowerPoint file. You can also drag and drop your file on to the pop-up window:
2. Import on the presentation editor
On the AhaSlides presentation editor, you can import your PowerPoint into your existing presentation. Simply go to the AhaSlides presentation in which you want to add your PowerPoint, then click the button labelled 'Import'. Once the import is completed, your PowerPoint slides will be added to the end of your presentation.
Import options
After selecting/inserting the file to upload, you will have 3 options:
- Import and generate slides with AI: Import your file as slides, then Al will suggest and insert interactive ones after relevant sections.
- Generate interactive slides: Use Al to create interactive slides from your file content, without importing the originals.
- Import slides: Import your file exactly as it is. You can use Al to generate interactive slides later.
To begin the import process, choose one option and click 'Start'
What Happens to an Imported PowerPoint/PDF?
Once imported to your AhaSlides presentation, each slide of your PowerPoint will be displayed as a separate
Content slide. These slides will contain
static images of each of your PowerPoint slides, meaning that
animations, embedded audio and links will not be imported to AhaSlides. However, each of your PowerPoint slides will have the functionality of a normal Content slide, meaning
you can add text, images, GIFs and emojis.
The name of each of your PowerPoint slides in AhaSlides will simply be the slide number followed by the name of the PowerPoint file you uploaded. You can change the name of these in the 'Content' tab of each slide, though this will just be for your own navigation purposes, as your audience will not be able to see the slide names.
Making a PowerPoint Interactive
While you can't make the PowerPoint slides interactive themselves (except for the default emoji reactions), you can place AhaSlides interactive slides in between the slides of your PowerPoint to encourage interaction from your audience.
