Using the Pin on Image slide

Using the Pin on Image slide

The Pin on Image slide lets participants interact with an image by placing pins on specific locations. This slide type is useful when you want your audience to identify or mark an area directly on an image, and is commonly used in interactive presentations to make visual questions more engaging and intuitive.

How to set up a Pin on Image slide

Create and set up the slide

  1. Add a new slide to your presentation
  2. Select Pin on Image from the list of slide types.
  3. Enter your question or prompt in the Your question field
  4. Upload an image to the slide.

Change the settings

Change the settings of your Pin on Image slide to your liking. There are 4 settings that you can change:
  1. Pins per participant: The number of pins that each of your participants is allowed to use. This can range from 1 to 10.
  2. Time limit: Apply a time limit to the slide.  When enabled, you can choose your time limit between 5 seconds and 20 minutes (1200 seconds).
  3. Close submission:  Close submissions for specific slides can be useful if you need to clarify a question before your audience submits their answers, or for any other reason where you do not want the participants to submit their answers to a question at that moment.
  4. Hide results: This hides the submitted responses from the presenter's screen as they're being submitted. While presenting and receiving submissions, there will be a button in the middle of the slide to reveal the responses whenever you want.

On the participant's side

When the presenter starts presenting and moves to this slide, participants will see the image on their device. They can simply tap or click the location they want, and a pin will appear there. They can drag a pin to another location by holding it, then dragging it, or remove it by clicking the "X" in the top-right corner of the pin.
After placing the pins, they can press/click the Submit button to submit their pins. The pins will then appear on the presenter's screen for everyone to see

Common use cases

The Pin on Image slide works well for many types of activities, including:
Icebreakers
  1. Where are you joining from? Ask participants to pin their location on a world map.
  2. How are you feeling today? Use an emotion wheel and ask participants to pin their mood.
Education and training
  1. Identify parts of a diagram (for example, anatomy or machinery).
  2. Locate places on a map in geography lessons.
  3. Mark the correct area in an image-based quiz.
Workshops and discussions
  1. Ask participants to highlight areas of interest or concern on a design, layout, or process diagram.
Interactive image questions increase engagement and support visual learning during presentations.
