Product release notes – April 2026: More activities, more ways to fight distraction.

Product release notes – April 2026: More activities, more ways to fight distraction.

Two brand-new slide types, sounds that bring energy to your quizzes, LaTeX
rendering for educators, a redesigned presenter backstage, cleaner reports,
and a central hub for all your integrations. Here’s everything that shipped in April.

🌟 This month’s highlights: Two new slide type

🏆 Ranking — Let your audience rank options in real time. See the group’s
consensus instantly.

💡 Idea Board — Collect free-text ideas, group them into themes, and let
the audience vote for the best ones.

Together with Pin on Image (released in March), these three slide types make
up AhaSlides’ group discussion activity suite, built for collecting, organising,
and prioritising ideas in a live session.

🏆 Ranking question: Let your audience weigh in

Standard polls tell you which option wins. Ranking tells you the full picture — how

every option stacks up relative to the others, across the whole audience.

The vibe check: Participants drag options into their preferred order, and you see the

group’s consensus build in real time.Great for priorities, preferences, and any question
where order matters.

Why this matters: Useful for product roadmap votes, training needs assessments, session

feedback, and any moment where you need more than a single winner.

💡 Idea Board: Collect, cluster, vote

Getting structured, actionable ideas from a live audience has always been difficult.

Idea Board makes it a built-in part of your presentation.

The vibe check: Participants type in their ideas freely. The presenter groups responses

into themes on screen. Then the audience votes to surface the most valuable ones.

What’s new: Idea Board is a new slide type where the flow is: collect free-text responses

→ organise into groups → open voting to prioritise. All inside one slide, with no extra tools required.

Why this matters: Ideal for workshops, retrospectives, and brainstorming sessions.

The voting step means you leave with a ranked shortlist, not just an unfiltered collection of responses.

Part of a set: Idea Board pairs with Ranking (this month) and Pin on Image (March 2026)

to form AhaSlides’ group discussion activity suite. Use them together to run structured,
engaging group sessions from start to finish.

🔊 Sound effects: Add energy to your quizzes

Sound effects are now available at the slide level, so you can choose the right tone for

each moment rather than applying a single setting to the whole presentation.

The vibe check: Pick from a set of built-in audio effects that play when results are

revealed — without leaving the slide settings panel.

What’s new: A new “Sound” option in slide settings lets you assign an effect per slide.

Why this matters: Audio cues help maintain energy and focus, particularly in longer

sessions or remote meetings where engagement can drop.

➕ LaTeX support: Render mathematical expressions

LaTeX expressions now render directly inside AhaSlides — no workarounds, no screenshots

from external tools.

The vibe check: Type LaTeX syntax in any text field and it renders inline, both in the editor

and during presentation.

What’s new: Wrap your expression in $$...$$ for display mode or $...$ for inline

rendering. Supported across slide titles, body text, and answer options.

Why this matters: A long-standing need for educators in science, engineering,

and mathematics — and a meaningful step toward supporting university and technical
training use cases.

🎬 New Backstage: Q&A moderation built in

Backstage has been redesigned with a clearer layout and dedicated Q&A

moderation controls, so managing live questions is part of the presentation flow rather
than a separate task.

The vibe check: See incoming questions, approve or hide them before they go live, and pin

the ones you want to address — all from one panel.

What’s new: New Backstage layout with a dedicated Q&A moderation panel. Approve

questions before they appear to the audience, star the most relevant ones, and keep your
session on track.

Why this matters: Moderated Q&A gives presenters control over what the audience sees,

which is essential for large sessions, sensitive topics, or events with high audience volume.

📊 Reports, overhauled: faster, cleaner, more complete

Reports have been rebuilt from the ground up with faster load times, a cleaner layout,

and more complete data at every level.

The vibe check: Open your session report and get a clear breakdown of what happened

— per slide and per participant — without additional processing.

What’s new: Redesigned reports with per-slide breakdowns, participant-level

response views, and improved export options. Load times are significantly faster for
large sessions.

Why this matters: For trainers, HR teams, and educators who need to review or share results

after a session, better reports mean AhaSlides delivers value beyond the live moment.

🛍️ AhaSlides Marketplace: All your integrations in one place

Marketplace is a central hub where you can find, connect, and manage all your AhaSlides

integrations — Zoom, Teams, LMS tools, and more — from a single location.

The vibe check: Browse integrations by category, connect in a few clicks, and manage

permissions without navigating through separate settings menus.

What’s new: The Marketplace tab is now active in your account. Explore

available integrations, view existing connections, and handle all management
in a single location. You can also submit requests for new integrations that work
with your workflow.

IdeaAhaSlides MCP is out for AI-workflow lover, and Teams add-in is coming back soon.

Why this matters: As the integrations catalogue grows, a central discovery

and management surface makes it easier for teams to get AhaSlides working
with their existing tools.
